What I Believe

Ours is a beautiful world worth sharing and experiencing joy in together. I believe our work is only worth pursuing if it makes space for life and light in the moments when people step away.

I want the people whom I work with to feel fulfilled, listened to, and sustained by their connection to their colleagues. To that end, trust and reliability are the cornerstones of development in my belief system. People cannot do their best if they are being watched like a hawk or given unreasonable, inconsistent demands.

However, it is clear that deadlines do matter, projects must ship, and compromises made to achieve the objective. We work together to see what is needed, what is wanted, and what is fluff. It is everyone’s responsibility to help where needed; no one is “too good” to sweep a floor, as it were.

At the end of the day, it needs to be something we are all proud of, and I will work tirelessly to ensure that we are.

What I Achieve

“His knowledge of the tools, processes, and framework that make up Elder Scrolls Online go down to the bone. He was responsible for something like half of the systems, events, and memorable additions to the game over its lifetime. And the ones he wasn't directly responsible for he maintained over the years as a champion of low bug counts, approachable player-centric design choices, and accessible gameplay.” - Michael Zenke, Elder Scrolls Online Loremaster and Narrative Lead

“I really trusted Greg. When I needed help sorting something out - dates, process, or just finding the right person for the job - I knew I could depend on his encyclopedic knowledge of the game, the studio, and the dynamics of each of those. He was also an absolute pleasure to work with; not only is he incredibly talented at his job, but he also brought humor to the table while remaining incredibly professional. It's obvious he cares deeply about his work and his team, and I'd recommend him without hesitation.” - Katie Vermazani, Product Manager

“Greg is sincerely one of the most dedicated and hardworking people I have ever had the privilege of working along side on various tasks over the last 15 years. Respectful and a consummate professional, with an always-on sense of humor to bring smiles to everyone even while leading from the (sometimes very muddy) trenches. He is open-minded and respectful of others skills and opinions that encourages everyone to bring out their best in collaboration.”- Greg Barley, Expert Level Designer and World Builder

“Greg has been given some of the most difficult tasks, and he has done a tremendous job delivering. He has a great collaborative nature that allows him to work between multiple disciplines to be able to create great game experiences. When critiques and changes come into play, Greg is quick to react and determine the best course of action that fits within the scope of the effort.” - Eric Nelson, Game and Technical Design Veteran
